We at The Heart Health Center consider it a privilege to provide cardiovascular care to patients in the St. Louis communities. We provide consultative, second opinion, pre-operative, and ongoing cardiology care office evaluations. We monitor patients’ pacemakers and defibrillators in our device clinic. We also provide a complete range of diagnostic testing and treatment options. Most of our services are offered in an office setting.
Office Visits
Initial Evaluation
Our board-certified cardiologists evaluate new patients with suspected or known heart conditions or symptoms, and also provide preventive cardiology care to patients with or without current symptoms or conditions.
Second Opinion Consultations
Our board-certified cardiologists provide second opinion consultations to patients who have been evaluated at other institutions. A copy of previous records and testing results can help expedite the second opinion process.
Pre-Operative Evaluation
Our board-certified cardiologists evaluate patients prior to planned surgery in order to optimize their health status, and define their surgical risk, prior to elective surgery, in order to make the surgery as safe as possible.
Ongoing Cardiology Care
Our board-certified cardiologists provide ongoing cardiology care to patients with heart symptoms or conditions, as well as to patients for preventive purposes.
Device Clinic (Pacemaker and Defibrillator (ICD) Management)
Our device clinic is managed by our board certified electrophysiologists and staff, who monitor our patients’ pacemaker and defibrillator (ICD) function. We monitor both by telephone and by office visits, determining battery life and device function, as well as monitoring for abnormal heart rhythms. Pacemakers and ICDs typically require monitoring every 3 months. Most devices can be monitored remotely by telephone, leading to the need for fewer in-office checks. Our device clinic staff monitors the function of our patients’ pacemakers and ICDs both in the office and remotely, providing our physicians with the information necessary for them to optimize device function.
